2843250 - Remove "Update is pending" from HANA DB

Symptom

1. After starting an upgrade with the SAP HANA Lifecycle Management by mistake, the status "update is pending" will not be removed, despite the fact that the upgrade has been cancelled before the any changes to the system have been performed.

2. A previous HANA upgrade was terminated or failed. You do not want to resume that upgrade and want to start from scratch.

Reproducing the Issue

Starting HANA Upgrade with HDBLCM and cancel it, before installation starts

Cause

Starting the update via HDBLCM, the <inst_path>/<SID>/<SID>.hdblcm.update file will be created. Thus, any subsequent HDBLCM update will try to resume the previously initiated update.

Resolution

Check a file with the following naming convention is existing on the system and if yes, rename or remove it: <inst_path>/<SID>/<SID>.hdblcm.update.

Then re-run the hdblcm.
